Now i am home i feel something is missing in my life and i think it is that huge ass cinema screen. Watched king of kong, I never thought that geekery has such a dark underbelly, i wont rant too much but bascially

Steve Wiebe is the real donkey kong champion.

Watching king of kong made me think about classic gaming moments from my misspent youth, those hours wasted playing Chase H.Q and Operation Wolf, So in no certain order and I will prob add to this....

1. Secret of monkey island- Best ever, never better and never equaled, long live guybrush.

2. Space Quest 2- I spent a entire day turning to work out which word I had to say to be allowed into the game, turns out after trying a thousand things you just had to type "say the word" I think this may have been the first time I had used foul language.

3. Cruise for a corpse- A whodunit set on a ship in the 1930's, quite film noir and I completed it using no cheats and hints! Score.

4. Lesuire suit larry- Yeah......anyone who has played this knows WHY you played it too, turns out getting tips on how to get dates from a graphic adventure doesn't work (you cant whisper into your coat pocket halfway through a date...SAVE GAME!)

If anyone reading this can think of anymore, please comment, i am going to write a longer post on the weekend in the sticks in a bit

When is tommorow?

In the post today, i got a magazine with some images from the opening of Disney's Tommorowland in the 1950's. Reminded me of my childhood and the thing i thought i would see when i was a adult, you got to bear in mind when i was a child i thought people saw in black and white until color tv was invented, quite how i come to this conclusion i am not sure.

Things i also thought when i was little *some still remain today*

1) We went to see a miltiary show and they had a puppet rabbit flying a plane, i thought the rabbit was real.

2) I thought Orville the duck was real...HE HAD FEET AND WALKED OUT OF A SPACESHIP.

3) I believed my dad served in Vietnam and had a license to kill.

4) If i set foot in the ocean, i would be eaten up jaws style, i also had a blue carpet and dreamnt about a giant fin circling my bed, i tell you something...even now..if i see a blue carpet i think of that, i also had a dream about a shark being trapped near the wave machine at the local swimming pool and trying to get me.

5) I could dig to Australia via my grandparents garden,in hindsight i think this was just a cheap and easy way to get me to dig the garden.

But i thought i would see the following

1) people flying to work and living in space.

2) Some form of Robot defence Godzilla, bit like MechaGodzilla but with more rockets.

So far none of this has come true

Woe is me
